First of all the formula of the fabled elixor of life was discovered recently.
Known as Ambrosia or Nectar, studies have shown it was a true mead (very alcoholic and NOT sweet).
For the longest time that's all we knew about it appart from the fact it was brewed by Cornovii Medusala.
Later a Ether (ancient Greek wiseman) script was found documenting the formula actly.
It stated that the honey to make the mead came from bees who drank from the fermented fallen fruit of a lemon tree.
However there's a problem with that.
The lemon tree itself is a modern hybrid species and so not the same tree as would have been used for Ambrosia.
The Ether states that attempting to replicate the formula was met with constant failure.
He states that the drink he produced tasted very different to the Ambrosia that was being produced.
The medusalas by comparison were able to make it right every time with what appeared to the Ether to be the same tree.
Even after watching every single step, the Ether found they could only make Ambrosia by moving their hive to the Medusala's abode.
Now with our modern sciency minds we can obviously figure out that it wasn't a lemon tree though a grapefruit tree.
That plains the difference in taste perfectly as back then lemons and grapefruit were almost indistinguishable by sight alone.
The fruit is also desribed as being "emerald green" in a lot of ancient texts which points us to 1 grapefruit in particular.
The pomelo is an ancestor of modern lemons though it still exists today.
The pomelo is native around the Thai region of Asia and there was already more than enough clues pointing in that direction before.
It seems very likely that the honey used originally in Ambrosia was Nepalese honey.
So what does that mean for Sam?
Well Sam has strong South-east Asian connections in his backstory for a start, maybe he drank the elixor of life whilst there.
Sam also has strong Cornovii routes, so if anyone knows the correct brewing method, it's him.
Sam has "emerald green" eyes and insides.
What if it's a symptom of the Ambrosia?
The tropical honey bee which makes Nepalese honey is mostly black with 3 distinct horizontal stripes across its back.
Sam wears an outfit with a very similar pattern across the back, maybe as a homage to the Medusala or a sign of clanhood.
Sam himself has admitted that the symbol is the Thai writing of the word for lifeforce.
The Medusala were also mystics and Sam has more than a few obvious routes to ancient mysticism.
The Medusala also frequently ate snakes, which Sam on several occassions has admitted to loving the taste of.
We at least know in the Albion canon he's thousands of years old so he could easily have been there at the time Ambrosia was brewed.
Gnathostoma is a roundworm species native to Thailand and it's hairy.
It's a parasite commonly found in Snow Leopards and Brown Seals and those species in particular are Sam's best and second best friends.
What's the story behind that i wonder.
New Guinea, which is the only place Tree-kangaroo are found, is directly on a main trade route between Nepal and Central America.
Of course we also know Sam's connection with Southern California and Texas which both border Central America via Mexico.
Bhang Ko Achar is a soilent chutney that's been made in Nepal for centuries.
Sam himself admits that he gained his wealth via the soilent trade in under developed countries.
Due to the fact it can also be used to make narcotics, that kinda says alot about the shady dealings Sam's into.
Maybe he started selling the soilent to the highest bidder to make a profit.
In Nepal there is a fast food sandwich restaurant that matches Sam's decription perfectly.
It's called Sandwich Point 1985, which plains the 85 in Sam's email address, him being born in '69.
It also opened as Sam was living in the area and looking for work.
The cultural differences he described match up and even the news events about the restaurant.
So...
In conclusion...
Sam is Nepalese.
