Cams Drones are floating things fitted with cameras that send the images and sound back to a Character via a Signal.
When commanding your Cam Drone you also emit a Signal to the drone as well.
Signals can be Tapped into which allows other people to listen into the Signal.
Signals can travel either via a Wireless or Wired Connection.
-
Wireless Connections can be Tapped into from a distance by a Radio Wave Receiver.
Tapping into Wireless Connections can also locate the source of the Signal.
They do however allow the Cam Drone to move freely.
-
Wired Connections use a Tether, a cable that runs between you and the Cam Drone.
This can only be tapped into if the Tether, the Cam Drone or the Character is touched directly by certain Techniques.
However, the Tether is likely to get stuck on things.
This hinders the ability to use it around corners.
-
If you have Feed Powers however the Tether will pass through most objects.
It only gets caught on Bundles of Nerves and Wires.
Organic Life has Bundles of Nerves except for Plants, Bacteria, Fungus and Coral.
Circuit Boards, TV Screens, Speakers, Microphones, Electronic Cameras, Electric Motors and Electric Heaters have Bundles of Wires.
Feed Tethers can have slight Signal interruption when passing through other things if they contain Polar Molecules or Metal.
These can also potentially transfer a small amount of the Signal through them as well.
Though a Receiver would have to be directly connected to it at that time.
-
Cams Drones can also be placed on or near Surfaces and have Tethers that travel through or along the walls, floors and ceilings.
This means Tethers don't get in the way and in some cases the Tethers move along inside the surface where they are hard to into.
This ability in particular is a default skill for Feed Powers.
The Cam Drones in this case can't move very far at all from the surface they are Tethered to without moving the Tether.
However the Character end of the Tether (the Character Plug) can be detached and attached to other Characters.
though only when the Character in ponder reaches the location of the Plug.
Leaving it unattended isn't a idea as enemies can also use it.
However it's useful to put a spy camera outside a room you're in to see if the coast is clear.
-
also spy cameras for the win.
and at last a solution to that horrible jacker mechanic (the Non-Feed-Power tether).
-
so at stopping you being routed and great for spying on your lazy teammates while they mess around.
-
though getting a lay of the land or seeing around corners or routes you wanna take is the best.
are you saying mantlewear is back?
