So let me get this straight. They are arguing with an English speaker that the definition of a pizza in another language is different. Okay so.. A glacier in English is a huge flow. A glacier in French is a snow cone. Sausage in English is meat made made into a cylindrical shape. Sausage in German is a soup. Of course words change definition when they are adopted by other cultures. If that didn't happen, our languages would only have a handful of words.

that's like 1/4 to 1/5 of all the words. if we were technical about all the words derived from Dur as an ample can you imagine not having words for any of those things because people pointed out that's not what those words mean in ancient Norse.
