With this skill when casting a beam-type action smaller beams will branch out the sides of the main beam at points along it. This increases the area of effect along the projected path and also allows Thust-type effects to land outside of the direct trajectory. If you're using a device to beam cast you'll need a specific device that uses feathering, for ample in the case of firearms. In the case of elements however you'll need to learn a certain skill to enable you to manipulate it. If an object is being projected you'll need multple copies of the object though each feathered beam will be as effective. If a fluid or energy is being projected it will simply take from the main beam weakening it as it progresses. For both these reasons Feathered Beam Casting has limited travel even if its original beam does not. It's also very likely to cause friendly fire especially where instant travel beams are concerned. You have been warned.
